"Last night (6pm approx) at our apartment building on the 4200 block of Hazel, two guys who obviously didn’t live in the building managed to get in and were hanging out in the lobby – one of whom was even charging his cellphone via an outlet in the lobby! Cops were called and arrived quickly and were very responsive to neighbors – for which we are very grateful. Please remind your readers to not buzz in anyone they don’t know and likewise, if you don’t know the person behind you trying to come into the building, don’t let them in. No-one I know would ever be offended if asked if we lived in the building – we’d be grateful that someone else was looking out for us all.
Many thanks to the police officers who responded – they were professional, re-assuring, and interested in our welfare and advised us on what to tell management of the building. It must be the season, as this morning an obviously drunk or high (or both) woman was loitering in front trying to get in. We’ve seen her before hassling people in our driveway – please, neighbors, don’t hesitate to call 911. The officers who responded last night were great."
What building was that in? I live in 4278 N. Hazel and would love to know the description of these two people so I can keep my eyes open.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
i moved out of 4278 after years of tolerating the weekly lobby doors being banged on and glass smashed - allowing undesirables regular access. the cops were called many times in the last 6 months.
ReplyDeletethe formerly-safe border of montrose has been moved south a block now, thanks in part to the pensacola and the riff-raff hanging out on Cullom!
I live at 4349 N. Hazel on the corner of Montrose across from Pensacola Place. Was the building these two were in the Bostonian on Culyer and Hazel? I'd like to do my part and keep an eye peeled as well.
