Siam Noodle (Sheridan & Leland) just got a classy new awning that changes the exterior from a local hole in the wall to a destination spot. What a difference. Now the outside invites people to come on in and try the delicious food within. We'd love to see more Uptown businesses follow its example.
This place has great thai food and as close as you can get to food from Thailand. I like the dive atmosphere there and I am happy I am able to walk to this place from my house. After living in Thailand for many years it was good to see a place like this in Uptown!
ReplyDeleteThe awning is great.
ReplyDeleteIt won't make me eat there any more/less often than the once-a-week thing I've been doing for years, but if it convinces more people to let go of their fear of wood paneling and tchotchkes, I'm all for it.
ameya has it right. Siam rocks.
I would not worry about eating at Siam Noodle. Half the staff of Weiss goes there for lunch and its a known "foodie" treasure on the North Side, which has operated successfully for years.
ReplyDeleteI'd be more concerned about losing this little pearl to the loan default proceedings against the landlord.
I like the awning - They did their part as a good neighbor, so I am gonna try it!
