Block Clean-Up On Winthrop This Saturday

  1. How nice they're doing this.

I wonder why they're not working with their local block club and Edgewater Community Council to organize this? Shouldn't they be working with those 2 organizations to at least be sponsors and take advantage of their mailing lists? Mmmmm.

  2. *sigh*

Amazing how motivating getting $3M in TIF$, and a looming re-election campaign can be, isn't it?

Though, instead of fliers, Mercy might be well served conducting another march to promote this.

Simultaneously, I'm encouraged by this and a little insulted.

    Maybe it's just me.

  3. Don't you organize a cleanup AFTER the snow has melted revealing all of the winter trash??? I don't understand the timing...

  4. This is really bizarre to me. I, like larrynow, thought clean up happens when the snow is gone. Also, this SRO is in an SSA area, don't they get serviced? The block should be clean already.

Does anyone know anything about this?

  5. Maybe it's community building.
Maybe it's a form of positive loitering or neighborhood watch.

In any case, I'm not going to get bent out of shape because my neighbors want to get out and make their block look nicer.
