Winston's Internet Cafe Now Open On Clark

A reader sends in the following info and link:
"There is a new Internet Cafe and coffee place at the corner of Clark and Argyle, where Clarks on Clark used to be. They serve soup, salads, sandwiches, and pizza, and they hope to be open 24 hours a day soon. Its a great addition to that corner."

  1. How do the prices, services, etc., compare with Screenz at Foster & Clark?

  2. We don't know Gayle.
Perhaps you should stop in, find out, and report back to us.

  3. I just want to say that I'm so happy to see so many small, independent businesses open up in the hood. I'll be sure to patronize, as well as continuing to visit my regulars (Dib, Wild Pug, Gigio's, etc.)...I loves me some Uptown! :)

  4. We dropped in last Friday to see. So far, good service. Really enjoy their furniture, and they have a good selection of books if you just want to read (I'm a huge Asimov fan :) ) The wireless service is free, and they make a tasty mocha. There are only two open use PCs right now. Definitely worth checking out.

  5. Thanks Freddie. I'm always looking for a new place to work. I need the right "vibe" to get some real writing done. I've checked out a few places near me (Zanzibar, Flourish, Pulse when they were open) and they were OK, but not...right. I know it sounds goofy, but hey, it's what works for me.

  6. MOTS: I know exactly what you mean. You can get a wi-fi connection and some caffeine just about anywhere, but if a place has a good vibe to it you feel more comfortable, less distracted, when it's time to take a break you can get a snack or chat with the folks working there, etc. I'm looking forward to checking this place out.
