From Ald. Smith's latest newsletter:
The CTA is conducting a "vision study" of the Red Line stations. In order to get input and feedback, the public is invited to a series of Open Houses. Each Open House will focus on a specific group of stations. Exhibits and other information will focus on the condition of the stations.
The Open Houses are:
Tuesday, December 1, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations
Emanuel Congregation, 5959 N. Sheridan
Wednesday, December 2, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Argyle, Lawrence, Wilson and Sheridan stations
Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson, Lecture Hall C Room 3641
In all fairness (loathe that I am to point it out) Helen also e-mailed this info. Though she didn't offer any explanation of how the Wilson stop was excluded from the TIF as we've come to know it.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that Ald. Shiller points out on her website that the CTA Vision Study Venues are handicap accessible....just not the stations in HER WARD.
ReplyDeleteAld. Shiller did send the same information, but the blurb was twice as long (it mentioned all the meetings the CTA is holding, not just Uptown's), and Ald. Smith's was more concise, and spelled out which stations were at being covered at which meeting. Less wordy, more info? We went with Smith's.
ReplyDeleteA lot of what Helen sends out relates to the city as a whole, not Uptown specifically. Mary Ann is usually on point. Since this is UPTOWN Update, we go with the stuff that's most related to our coverage area, not who sends it.
