Shedding Some Light On The Situation

A reader sent in this photo of the streetlights on the west side of the 4600 Winthrop block, which are working after nearly two months of being dark. We're sure the residents are pleased and relieved to have both sides of their street illuminated again.

  1. This is very good news. Prostitution has skyrocketed in this area within the last couple of months. A few weeks ago, a prostitute observed that a nearby neighbor of mine was on the phone calling the police while she was "in action" with a man. She yelled out, "Hold off.... we're almost finished!" Unbelievable.

  2. Sorry about the delay. It was a complicated problem.

  3. Hey magical city guy.

According to "Yo" if you work for the city, you shouldn't be commenting on here. Or maybe it's a rule if you don't agree with a post on UU. Well, at least I love Uptown and have lived here for almost 30 years.

And yo, your new hero, the guy at the meeting that was acting like a rebellious teenager...he doesn't even live in our Ward.

Next time you see me you should introduce yourself. You seem to have no problem posting my name and address for everyone to read. I can give you some juicy details about my personal life for you to post on here. Don't coward out.

  4. Hon, I believe "Yo" said that it would be nice if someone who works for the city posts here, full disclosure be made. Seems neighborly.

  5. Well deary,

Then that should apply to everyone. But, I do believe that is too much to ask from you all.

I have nothing to hide and there is nothing I'm ashamed of.

OK...I'm ready for the attacking to begin. Come on IP throw the first punch.

  7. James,

If the prostitute doesn't finish the job then she has to go to her supervisor to get the refund, and we all know how long that can take. I think I tidy ending is better for everyone involved.
