Talk about multi-tasking! We're amused by this restaurant and its secret identities. From 7am-11am, it's DMF Breakfast House, where you can get a hearty American breakfast. But come 11:01, it whips off its Clark Kent glasses and becomes D'Manilians Fishpond, with Filipino fare. Adding Lois and Jimmy to the mix, it also has signs for "fax service" and "new sports bar." No guarantees on what you'll find when you get there, but this jack-of-all-trades is located at 4416 N Clark, just north of Montrose.
Update: The MenuPages blog followed up on this, and sad to say, "American Breakfasts" are no more. Read about it here.
Having lived near this fine establishment for a while I have yet to work up the courage to dine during breakfast or lunch/dinner. I'm anxious to learn if anybody has worked up there nerve.ReplyDelete
I live right next door in a condo and have never worked up the nerve to dine there either, although I did stop in once for a container of white rice for my dog when he had an upset stomach...ReplyDelete
That, and my neighbors and I often joke about catching a Cubs or a Bears game at their newly established "sports bar"...
This restaurant has been in the neighborhood for many years. I have a friend who is Filipino and he highly recommends it. He likes good restaurants and said that he and his family have gone there on countless occasions. No word on the breakfast component.ReplyDelete
I just wish someone would put a real sports (or any kind) of bar near that intersection...we need a neighborhood watering hole.ReplyDelete
There is always Crew, the best sports bar there is, but that is a ways from Clark and Montrose.ReplyDelete
Finally! As a Filipino, I am glad there is a restaurant in the neighborhood and within short walking distance.ReplyDelete
Driftwood isn't THAT far away, is it? Montrose and Broadway?
I live next door as well in the condo buiding and I have many times wanted to go in there just to check it out. I will soon. The sports bar sign makes me curious!ReplyDelete
