Helen Rides For "Pride and Justice"

Thanks to a reader for sending in photographic evidence that Ald. Shiller made it to at least part of the Pride Parade. Proof positive that she loves and supports gays (unless, of course, they run against her for office or don't support 100% low-income housing projects built in high-poverty tracts).

  1. so, did she have more than three teenagers walking with her? her support is just overwhelming...no office staff? LOL

  2. I for one love and RESPEKT Alderwoman Shiller.

I am proud and delighted that my elected representative actually was seen out in public in a non election year. I've never attended the parade because I wouldn't want to be beaten down by any angry lesbians who might be offended by my "landscaping and lesbians" schtick. I kid the lesbians. I fully realize many of you are gym teachers, homicide detectives, and big engine mechanics.

I would like to invite Helen to next years St. Paddy's Day Parade. The downtown one. The South Side Irish Parade was canceled because of excessive drinkin', fightin', and fornicatin' and that was just my female relatives. Granny, drinks too much sometimes and overindulges with "the wee bite of the creature" drankin' thang.

IF I were a member of Facebook I might even send a note to Helen at Her FaceBook Page

    Or not.

I'd probably just ask some question and never get a response.

Perhaps some of you can "friend her" on Facebook. I'd think she might suspect something was wrong if she got a friend request from "AyeRish J Pirate". Perhaps I'll try to sneak in as Rockwell J Bullwinkle or I bet I'd get a quick response if my name was Rich "Hey I gotz lotsa relatives feeding at the public trough" Daley.

  3. I guess she goes as thats about the only place and time she will get cheers on the North-side of the city and mostly from strangers who don`t even know her..........

  4. She was booed where I was standing. And she said I think I am getting booed.

  5. I was near the very end of the parade route. I can tell you she made it the whole way. I can also tell you that I did not applaud her.

  6. Wierd. From the look of this picture it appears she's hiding in between two large signs.

  7. Was she waving to the rich people?

Were any of her employees carrying baseball bats?

If she can figure out how to be accessible and involved in the community the other 364 days of the year I will applaud her.

  8. According to a tweet by @windycitizen: Lots of politicans have banners and floats, so far only Ald. Helen Shiller (46th) has been booed.

  9. I saw her pass by at Halsted and Roscoe, and I definitely heard more applause than booing.

  10. Yes she gets most of her support from Tom Tunney's ward that don't really know what she is all about.

I would like to see less politicians at the Parade or put them all on one float and be done with it.

  13. Was at Broadway and Buckingham - she was booed - loudly.

  14. Dop, I was standing right next to you. Booing. As loudly as possible. ;)

I feel like I did my part.

  15. I feel like I did my part.

    Not quite.

You also need to tell every voter in the 46th that you know to go to the polls in Feb 2011.

Also, that they would be stupid beyond comprehension to actually cast a ballot for that woman.

Then, make sure that you don't vote for her, yourself.

    That's doing your part.

The boo'ing is just the beginning ;)

  16. It was also funny that Roland Burris was booed almost the entire route, not much surprise. Interesting that the guy even showed up.
