'The Expired Meter' Aims To Educate

A reader alerted us to "The Expired Meter," a great site whose stated goal is to educate and inform Chicagoans about fighting parking tickets and parking issues. Could come in handy the next time you're ticketed and want to contest it. Check out The Expired Meter here.

  1. Seems like there was some vigilante justice at the meters on Winthrop just south or Argyle yesterday. Somebody had spraypainted the glass on all the meters, and many of them had nails pressed into the coin slots.

  2. It is harder and harder to find a working meter. I would sooner move and find a working one then go through all the BS you have to go through to report it and contest it. I find alot where they look like they been super glued. The good old days are gone and this dam city is just going to get worse and worse........

  3. Protect yourself from expired meters and use the PDF provided by Expired Meter:

http://theexpiredmeter.com/?p=2574I have a stack of these in my glove compartment and some tape. Have used them 3 times and no tickets.

  4. Clue: if the screen is yellow the machine is dysfunctional. If green, there's still some time left; if red, feed the beast!
