I do fish alot at montrose and I have seen this numerous times and it has gotten worse by the year. Specially on the east end. All the garbage the boaters thrown into the water collect on this side and it smells so bad in the hot weather. I see them clean it up at times but only to come back again in a few days. Next year if you drive you will have to pay 1 dollar a hour to park, the fishing license will increase to 22 dollars double and who knows what else. Many are afraid to eat any fish anymore that comes out of the harbor.....
Thank you Marcus. Where is the RECYCLING in Chicago? The blue bag program is a joke. Major citys like San Francisco and New York can handle recycling- why can't we?
Most boaters do not throw stuff in the lake. It is a huge no-no. You can't blame the boaters for that. That area of the harbo collects everything that washes into the harbor also.
Instead of complaining barry, how about using one of your extra nets sometime to clean some of it up. Sometimes we all need to pitch in a bit to keep the park clean. We live in a world where we expect someone else to do it instead of helping to contribute to the cleanliness of the park. There will always be garbage and litterbugs.
Jason...Well not all boaters but I sit on my friends boat and fish there and I see the college kids throwing beer cartons and junk every year and most of it comes from the people on the shore that have no respect for nothing and even fisherman throwning in bait cups and plactis water bottles and garbage too.........
Do not want to go to there.
ReplyDeleteThat will not be there long.....
ReplyDeleteChicago is a green city my ass. It's still just faking it. They need to get the lead of the dirt first.
ReplyDeleteYikes. Where is that?
