Alternatives, Inc. is hosting its Second Annual Alternate Route - 8k Run for Youth on Sunday, May 17 at 8am at Montrose Harbor. Cost is $30 per person (before Thursday, May 14 at 8pm) or $35 on the day of the race.
Chip timing is included if you pre-register! There will also be a kids' dash!

And very soon, the city will be charging $1 an hour for metered parking at the park. That means for people who go to these kinds of events, they will have to be sure someone stays nearby to feed the meters that only go to 2 hours. I wonder if people going to the parks will be parking their cars in the nearby neighborhoods instead?
