Vacant Storefront Showcase: 1300 Block Of Wilson

Looks like the owner of this historic building in the 1300 block of W. Wilson at Malden is actively trying to rent out their storefronts. New "For Lease" signs have gone up and it looks like a new tenant is moving into the 1311 storefront (anyone know what it might be?). If you or anyone you know might be interested in these spaces, please call Hunter Properties at 773-477-7070.

  1. Seems to me that if Uptown Update knows it's Hunter Properties leasing these groundfloor retail spaces (as well as Hunter's phone number), UU could simply call Hunter and ask the name of the new tenant.

  2. And then UU alone would know, and that would defeat the point of asking people to get the word out that there are vacancies available.

  3. I see many empty spaces and until the alderwomens office is empty like the rest and have someone fill it that cares and can clean up our uptown they will remain empty. I talked to many potential renters but when they come and see all the crowds of homeless and punks hanging out infront of other businesses they are too scard to rent the spaces.............

This is vital information that should be reported to Uptown Update. The declining parties have a right to privacy, but their reasons for turning down the space should be noted.

What do they see as barriers to this market?

    The public ought to know.

  5. Well! When the Police are being cameraed and videoed. They don't want to do anything that the camera catches after the fact. People showing up on a stop after the fact, obvioulsy don't get the facts. Why are the Police there? Someone "Anonymously" called. And whewn the police stopped some punks on Magnolia tonight. There they were, Uptown jerk-offs videoing. How about asking the Police firtst, if they mind being taped. They'll say "No". And maybe they can get their job done with you idiots taping them. Oh1 It's not going to used against the Police. The poor punks weren't doing anything. The store fronts can't get rented because of all these Government Aid people justmilling around. Pissing, drinking and hanging out.

  6. Syn, most folks in Uptown really appreciate the police. It's a small group of kids from privileged backgrounds who fancy themselves rebels who have formed "copwatch." Those are the folks who videotape the cops. They also videotape people like us who go on beat walks with the police. Don't paint us as their supporters, because most of us are not.
