Fiesta Mexicana at Broadway and Lawrence has been without a lighted sign for a while. We had heard that the previous one was removed due to the fact that the building was no longer able to support a hanging sign. While it was down, the "Green Mill Gardens" sign was visible above the entrance and we had hoped that a new sign would not cover it. No such luck. A new sign was being installed yesterday evening as you can see.

Hello Fiesta Mexicana, Goodbye Green Mill Gardens
Fiesta Mexicana at Broadway and Lawrence has been without a lighted sign for a while. We had heard that the previous one was removed due to the fact that the building was no longer able to support a hanging sign. While it was down, the "Green Mill Gardens" sign was visible above the entrance and we had hoped that a new sign would not cover it. No such luck. That's a bummer. I love this building; it's history should be celebrated more. I'd like to see money invested in keeping the facade in good repair, and the old masonry elements visible. Here's a picture of the gardens roughly a hundred years ago.
