Time To Call Graffiti Blasters

A reader sent in this photo, taken early this morning: "Caught this this morning on my way to the El. It's on the fence in front of the synagogue on the 5000 N block of Kenmore. Whoever scrawled it showed great restraint. Of all the fence posts along the front of the synagogue's property, only one was defaced. Off to call 311 now."

We urge our readers to call Graffiti Blasters to get this put on the top of their list. The defaced synagogue is Agudas Achim North Shore Congregation, and the address is 5029 N. Kenmore. It's been burglarized, vandalized and hit by anti-semitic graffiti several times in the past few years, although it's been a great neighbor and community participant. Let's do a mitzvah and return the favor by requesting that Graffiti Blasters take care of this right away.

  1. We also got Latin Kings graffiti in the lobby of the Sheridan Grande yesterday.

  2. I would say that this could be taken care of by someone with a small can of paint and a brush, but I guess if they see you doing that, that's asking for trouble, right?

ltn318... In the LOBBY? I'm guessing someone in the building is LK and giving "sanctuary" to the bangers.

Sure, and I'd be inclined to paint it myself, if not for the fact that I'd like the incident to go on record. Gang activity has been rife on this block, so the more official stats on what's going on, the better.

  5. We have 'bangers scratching signs in the sidewalk. They must do it in the early morning because I've left my window open trying to hear them at it, without success. Will graffiti blasters cover etchings in concrete?

  6. Hard to believe nobody notices (or maybe they do) when some thug is drawing such intricate stuff.

I've never seen graffiti on Carmen (Shiller's block) on all my walks.
Unless you count her threatening "I'll have You Towed" note graffiti?

  7. People - Keep calling 311. Lets be relentless here.

The tide had turned and there is no place for this crap in Uptown anymore.

  8. I walked past the Sheridan Grande and did notice some graffiti etched in the wall in the space right before you enter the lobby. What is the security like--is there someone on duty there? I had been interested in that development(in the future, as the price now is out of my league), and it seems things such as appropriate security, maybe cameras in that lobby area, should addressed by the board.

  9. I've seen (and called 311) grafitti on Carmen - on the building that was once Clark's on Clark
