While this isn't in Uptown, it may affect travel. From Ald. Schulter in the 47th Ward:"Water Main Repair in Lincoln Square. My office just received word from the Department of Water Management that they are currently performing emergency repair work to a water main at the intersection of Lawrence and Western. This work will continue through this evening. Limited traffic remains open in all directions. However, I would encourage residents to avoid that intersection if possible."
On the scanner this afternoon they said a car fell in a big sinkhole at Oakley and they had the street (Lawrence) blocked off. The officer on scene said the whole street was going to collapse soon.
