Ald. Shiller's Former Chief Of Staff Gets A New Job

You may remember our post from back in August mentioning Dave "Pool Boy" Ochal, who was Alderman Shiller's Chief of Staff before Ms. Davis. Ochal was fired by Daley during the "generator scandal" this summer when he curiously had a generator delivered to his home by Com-Ed while all his neighbors sat without power. Well, Mr. Ochal has a cushy, new job. Read all about it at the Tribune here.

  1. He has a new job. Terrible. People who make mistakes and pay their time and fines for those mistakes should never be forgiven nor ever be able to work again.

  2. BJ, i'd be in complete agreement with you if so many others had not been required to pay for his actions. Instead of working for a company that "allegedly" derived benefits to the tune of $18 million while he oversaw operations at the airport, he should write a "how to" book regarding working with outside contractors. Maybe he could even do speaking engagements.

  3. To be forgiven one needs to ask forgiveness. (To sincerely ask for forgiveness one must acknowledge guilt and plegde change.) Pool boy just seems to go from graft to graft. If Richy wants to hire him to mow his lawn and manage his personal affairs and trusts him enough to pay him from the Daley Fortune fine. I'm unaware of pool boy's public declaration of guilt, remorse and pledge to reform. I don't want to contine to pay him whether as a public employee or as the conected contractor. (Though I understand anyone who gets city money directly or indirectly is connected.)
