City Discovers That Lake Shore Drive Extends to Uptown

FI-NAL-LY!

From the Tribune: "The long-awaited resurfacing of a section of North Lake Shore Drive pocked with potholes will begin next week, city officials said Friday. The work will be done during off-peak hours. It will start in the southbound lanes between Irving Park Road and Foster Avenue through November, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation. Work on the northbound lanes between Irving Park and Foster will follow in spring, CDOT said."

    Yeah, isn't north of Addison technically Wisconsin? Or is it Canada? Don't I have to get my passport stamped?

    So... they had all summer to do it all and now we still have to contend with the Northbound lanes deteriorating more this winter?

    I've got broken tie-rod replacement bills to prove how lousy north LSD is.

    But I think the bridges, are probably the most run down.

    So I drove north on LSD today around 11. Guess what? Work was being started!

    Guess who was out there with news vans holding a press conference? CDOT is trumpeting their horns about getting it done. Nice job, fellas! Only a feeeeew years late!

    I think there have been similar comments before when discussing LSD, but I was under the impression that LSD is a state roadway, not a Chicago roadway. So, should CDOT be out there "trumpeting" anything?

    Confused,

    At Foster, going south it's US 41 which goes from Marquette, MI all the way to Miami.

    I went a little far in saying CDOT was trumpeting but see:
