Uptown Broadway Building Gets Windows

Workers are installing the ground floor retail windows of the Uptown Broadway Building this afternoon. They have also replaced a large section of brick on the north side of the building.
Also, we remember hearing that a West Coast-based burger joint was interested in a retail spot in this building. Could it be "The Counter" custom built burgers? They are planning to open their first Chicago location in Lincoln Park, but could they soon be calling Uptown home as well? If this a business you would like to see in our neighborhood, click "contact" at the bottom of their website and send them an email mentioning this location.

  2. In-N-Out won't come here (as much as I'd love them to...I just moved here from SoCal). They refuse to freeze their meat, so they will not open stores outside a certain distance from their west coast distribution center.

  3. How long before the windows get vandalizded? 1 week? Personally I give it three days. The hoodlims won't be able to stand something nice being put up.

  5. Someone tell In-N-Out that Illinois has cows they can use! They would be great, although I would probably be on Lipitor shortly after they opened :)
