Sewer Work At Beacon And Wilson, Italian Restaurant Makes Progress

A reader sent in the following pic from Beacon and Wilson showing sewer work taking place there. In the background you can also see the future home of the Italian restaurant in the high rise on the corner. Workers there have since moved the entrance from Wilson to inside the enclosed fence area. The reader peeked inside and noted that the inside has been totally gutted, recessed lighting and exposed duct work have been added. They also noticed a fountain being installed outside and electrical cables for outdoor lighting being added. If you are out this weekend, we suggest you stop by Express Chicken & Ribs in this same building. Mention "Uptown Update" and save 10% off your order.

  1. I have been watching the progress of the restaurant. There is alot of work going on there. It should be a beautiful addition to Wilson.

I don't think that is sewer work going on there. Helen gave the OK to put the Labor Ready office in there. She allocated 250k in TIF funds for the project last night.

  2. I'm obviously behind the times... can anyone please provide more info on the italian restaurant going in there? What price range, etc? Any ideas when it will open?

  3. This is what we have been told. It is being opened by folks who already have an Italian restaurant in New York. This would be their first restaurant in Chicago. We had also heard they plan to open sometime in June. We would also imagine that the prices will not be steep. If you get a chance, pop in and speak to one of the workers.
