Montrose & Malden Doesn't Pass The Sniff Test

A reader writes in (but we can't find the email, so we're paraphrasing) that the corner of Montrose and Malden has just undergone road patching for the umpteenth time, and not only is it a really poor job of roadwork, but ... it stinks!

She honestly can't tell if it's sewer smell or a skunk over in Graceland Cemetery. Now that's bad.

Anyone else in the area experiencing malodorous waftings of springtime sewer gas or skunkage?

  1. I live on that block of Malden and can say that it took way too long to patch that up. There was a good 2 inch drop in the street. Not good for tires.

Also that smell must be a skunk.I smelled it on several occasions on Montrose. Skunk odor is pretty unmistakable. Hopefully they don't start roaming the streets.

I'm (kind of) joking, but wouldn't that be a great way to clear the drug dealers and gangbangers from the Sunnyside Mall? Skunk Army for Uptown!

Not that I would advocate that sort of behavior.
