Looking North From The Wilson L Tracks

This is the view looking north from the Wilson L platform in the early 1950s. Notice the McJunkin Building visible on the right, even one of the light poles perched on top the ornamental clock "parapet" of the main station entrance below.  CTA Collection

  1. I love the old station at the left of the picture. It looks like some old English train station, and you'd expect to see Heathcliff or Sherlock Holmes exit.

    Also love the faint ghost of the Uptown Bank in the distance, hovering over the whole scene.
