'Imagination Theater' Announces Summer Camp

Chicago’s award-winning Imagination Theater will be hosting “Camp Imagination”-- a summer arts camp for kids. This fun-filled camp will be facilitated by Imagination Theater’s professional ensemble using interactive theater activities to help kids explore themes of RESPECT and SOCIAL CHANGE. The Camp’s curriculum will also include creative writing, music, and art to be incorporated into a final showcase performance.

This six-week Camp for kids (ages 6-14) will take place from June 23 through August 1, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, weekdays (except for July 4). There are two separate camp locations: in Uptown at Imagination Theater’s headquarters at 4802 N. Broadway St., and in Bucktown at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave. Activities at both camps will include: Theater games, Teamwork exercises, Scene writing, Painting/Set Design, Creating Music, Fun field trips, and an original showcase performance for an invited audience.

The cost of the program (a total of 87 hours of class time) is $525. There is an early bird discount of $50 for children registered on or before May 9th. Imagination Theater is dedicated to offering our services to economically disadvantaged students at reduced rates or free of charge. The organization is pleased to announce that it will be offering up to five full scholarships at each of its camp sites this summer to students who are not able to afford the tuition.
