Big Sale And More Changes At 'Unique So Chique'

Unique So Chique, located at 4600 N. Magnolia Ave. Suite C is having a 50% off retail sale. This sale does not include restaurant, tea or tea accessories. We are having this grand sale through the end of March. Why are we doing this you ask? Well, for a couple of reasons. One is that we all know the economy is sluggish. So, we figure let's help our business and the community. We will be able to generate revenue for our business and make necessary changes to the boutique and our customers leave our store with great product at extremely discounted prices.
Second, is since we were denied by the Alderman's office for our outdoor parkway English Style Tea Garden, we have decided to eliminate more retail and add more stools for the chocolate area so we can accommodate more guests. Our hopes was to have an elegant outdoor setting this Spring but since we were told "it would take away from our green space" on the parkway in front of our business, we will bring our business inside. So, changes are on the way. Please come join us for this great sale and to learn what is store for Unique So Chique.

  1. Wonder if Popeye's on Wilson wanted an outdoor seating area if Shiller would approve it? I bet she would.

  2. Since when is a dead tree and concrete 'greenspace'?

  3. Word. I heard through the rumor mill that JC's campaign manager got nailed with a house inspection and is having to tear part of it down as a result. Folks have cause to be scared of crossing her.

  4. And yet that heap of crap Wilson Club Hotel has HOW many violations and its still standing? Hello City of Chicago Building Inspector?

  5. The guys at Unique So Chique are smart. They won't let this little roadblock of Shiller slow them down. We need more retail on Wilson. Wasn't it supposed to be, in Shiller's words, "a retail corridor?"
On another note, has anyone heard what the restaurant next to Wilson Club Hotel is going to be? I saw workers in there today. They have installed a wind-block door entry just inside. Looks like whoever is doing it is putting a little dough into it. Good news.

  6. Unique So Chique, I want you to wrap me up some tea in a brown paper bag and I will come over and sit down on the sidewalk and enjoy it on a nice sunny day. If anyone wants to join me, my treat.

  7. two things:

    1. if youare not homeless you are not allowed to sit on the sidewalk. This Uptown, you have not pull or rights unless you are hoemless
    2. Great question about Wilson Club Hotel. What has been done. I have call ed Shiller office about the violations. And, you guessed it "no comment". Has anyone had any success with any of the City department.

I can't that Mole face gets away with this.

  8. You know, had she polled the neighbors, they would have loved Unique So Chique to have this space outside.

It's one thing to be a poor listener. It's quite another to be a b_tch. It's these little games that will lead to her downfall. We won't forget.

She has the chance to change and she continues her antics. Are we suppose to believer her six months before the next election? I don't think so.

  9. I have every right to sit or stand on the sidewalk and enjoy tea with my friends. Some yuppie may call the police because we are "loitering." Then, my buddies and I will probably have to disperse to avoid any more trouble. But if the mood strikes us, we can come back the next day for some more tea and sympathy. There is very little that anyone can do about it.

  10. Loitering is a lot like pornography. It's hard to define, but you know it when you see it.

If you think "yuppies" are making you a victim, then you are destined to be a victim. But something tells me there's a lot more going on. You know it. I know it, and I'm thinking those "yuppies" know it, too.

    Now grow up.
