Definitely Remember 'Forgotten Chicago'
We came across a very cool website featuring architecture, streets, signs and other things lost to time in Chicago. "Forgotten Chicago" is a must for anyone who is a Chicago history buff. Uptown is even featured in two sections we came across. "McCutcheon Terrace" is listed as one of the shortest streets in Uptown. The building at Broadway and Winona is listed as a "tied house" which was a saloon that served only a specific breweries' beer. Also be sure to check out the "Odds & Ends" section and then "Disused Turnarounds." Broadway and Montrose is featured as well as the old "Look Out For Buses" signs STILL attached to the blightpoles. We will add a link on the right or you can out "Forgotten Chicago" here.
