Am I the only person who finds these new banners to be an incredibly tacky replacement? I thought the ones that were already up were very nicely understated. That's not to say I was against the idea of changing them...but really, couldn't they have come up with something better than fake-Vegas?
We think we could have saved a lot of "design time" and money and simply used the existing design with new banners. We found nothing wrong with the classic look of the old banners. Anyone know how much it cost to come up with this design?
There were five or so choices for the banner design. Businesses decided on the one(s) they pay for.
I personally like them, but even if I didn't, I'm glad they're up. When I first moved here (8 years ago), residents complained that Uptown had no banners and no holiday decorations. The SSA has provided both.
So I'm not going to complain 'cause it's an instance where our complaints were actually heard and addressed (which isn't exactly common 'round these parts. "Vibrant shopping area in Wilson Yard," anyone?)

ReplyDeleteI actually kinda like that one. Perhaps a mix of the older and newer banners.

I had one of the old one's and loved the design. The banner lasted longer than any banner my company ever bought.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see my new one's hanging up.
