Last week, someone enjoyed a Fourth of July picnic of kosher chickens, believes Rabbi Philip Lefkowitz of the Agudas Achim North Shore Congregation.
For the second time in as many weeks, burglars broke into the synagogue at 5029 N. Kenmore Ave. and "cleaned us out," Lefkowitz said.
"It happens more and more. The police come and their hearts are broken. No matter if you are a Jew, Christian or Muslim, if you're a human being and see a house of prayer robbed or vandalized, it's diabolical," Lefkowitz added.
