An organizer of the "Family Fun Fair" at Chase Park wrote in and wanted us to pass along info on their upcoming fest. This doesn't appear to be a festival where you can purchase illegal purse knock-offs or used shoes either. Be warned.

I was hoping I could buy some spray paint since I can't get it the Ace Hardware on Broadway.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see these people using your site to promote their causes.
ReplyDeleteHey Craigie if you don't likeit move to Rogers Park.
ReplyDeleteWait, you did.
Nevermind.
Craigie part deux,
ReplyDeleteNow I happen to enjoy your Morse Hell Hole blog. Anything that sticks it to Joe Moore is ok by me.
However, I think the point of the Uptown Update is to post stories about the good, bad and ugly of Uptown. The contributors can comment on that.
That fest is good news and was compared favorably to "Unity" Fest over at Truman. Thereby indirectly sticking it to St. Helen of Carmen Avenue.
By posting the story they allow people in the community to know it exists and maybe some of those folks will go over there. Actually sounds like a good fest to bring kids to.
I have no kids, being that I loathe and hate children, but some people are better than me. Ok, nearly all people are better than me.
I passed by the Chase Park fest this evening after taking my kids to Hamburger Mary's for dinner in Andersonville.
ReplyDeleteThere was something missing from this Fest. But I can't quite put my finger on it.
Hold on. I think I know what it was, now.
There was no man near the kids play area standing next to a filthy, rundown recreational vehicle yelling "barker" style, "Get yourself HIV/AIDs tested! Know your status! Only 20 minutes!"
No Fest is complete without free HIV/AIDs testing for kids.
