Buena Park Community Meeting To Discuss Requested Special Use Permit For 800 West Buena

Alderman Cappleman has called a community meeting to discuss a Special Use Permit that has been requested by the new owners of the mansion at 800 West Buena.

On Wednesday, June 14, interested residents of Buena Park are encouraged to meet at Klein's Bakery, 4155 North Broadway, at 7:30pm.

The building at 800 West Buena has been used as a school for many years and is the current home of Smart Love Preschool. Last March, its imminent sale to Haymarket Books was announced. The owners of the independent publishing company introduced themselves at the quarterly general meeting of Buena Park Neighbors later that month. At the meeting, they said they would like to turn one of the mansion's ground floor rooms into a reading room for the public while utilizing the rest of the building as offices for its staff.

Buena Park Neighbors is a 46th Ward neighborhood association of more than 200 residents, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations in the nationally registered Buena Park Historic District. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for everyone in Buena Park.
