Halloween At The Uptown Underground: Peek-a-Boo, Witches & Monsters

What better place to spend the spooky holiday than in the Underground? Uptown Underground, that is, located at 4713 North Broadway in the historic splendor of the Uptown Broadway Building.

KISS KISS CABARET presents "Peek-A-Boo"! This is the show that started it all. This year's Halloween performances feature new dances by the Kiss Kiss Cabaret Coquettes and The Underground Vaudettes, plus the return of the group numbers to Nick Cave's "Red Right Hand" and the premiere of Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party."  "Peek-A-Boo" is performed Friday and Saturday at 10pm. Purchase tickets here.

Just in time for Halloween, No One Here But Us Witches is back by popular demand! This time with more witches and more songs! In this witch-themed cabaret, conceived by Harmony France, we experience the unlikely meeting of Elphaba, Maleficent, Ursula, Glinda, Cruella De Vil, and a mysterious stranger as their stories collide in a surprising, hilarious, yet touching tribute to everyone's favorite witches. Featuring homages to Wicked, Into the Woods, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, The Witches of Eastwick, Hocus Pocus, The Wiz, and more, No One Here But Us Witches is an evening filled with critically-acclaimed, award-winning actresses sharing the untold story of what happens when people stop being polite and start being witches. October 31st, 7pm, only! Purchase tickets here.

"Monsters + Marvels" comes to the Underground next week. A Time Out Chicago Critic's Pick, Raks Geek returns with a brand-new theatrical production blending artistic and technical mastery with creativity and themes from geek culture.  The belly dancers and fire spinners of Raks Geek have performed everywhere from Spain to Argentina and dance for hundreds of people every week, but they're also lifelong geeks who bring a love and expertise in science fiction, technology, research science, and comics. November 4th, 8pm. Tickets are $19-39 and available here.
