What A Difference A Renovation Makes

Presto Change-O! Hai Yen at 1055 Argyle has gone modern with a new exterior, thanks in part to a rebate program offered by Uptown United.

On its Facebook page, Uptown United ran the photo above and says: "We love the new signage at Hai Yen Restaurant on Argyle and were honored to help make it happen with our Curb Appeal Rebate Program! Looking to make improvements at your business? Visit our website to find out how we can help! www.exploreuptown.org"

They have also offered grants through the SBIF (Small Business Improvement Fund).

Here's how Hai Yen looked just a year ago:

If you own a small business or if you know any small businesses that might be interested in taking part in either program, have them contact Uptown United.

  2. This should be a requirement for all storefronts and restaurants on North Broadway from Montrose to Wilson. The flashing neon signs need to go! Updating a bit of the exterior can completely change the look of a whole street.

  3. I only hope that they keep it looking good, and that the other retailers on Argyle follow suit.
