Man Stabbed In Robbery, Possibly On Montrose

According to the police scanner and the Sun-Times, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the chest at 9:45 tonight. According to the news report, he was walking with a friend when two men approached them and attempted to take his wristwatch. A fight broke out and the man was stabbed. He was taken in critical condition to Illinois Masonic. No one is in custody yet.

Although the stabbing was said to have happened on the 1000 block of Montrose, Crime in Wrigleyville & Boystown is reporting that the men were picked up by a passing motorist and flagged down police officers on Halsted. Because they are unfamiliar with the area, they can't confirm where the stabbing took place. More to come.

  2. I live at 1100 Montrose and at no time was there ever a police presence or ambulance. I have a feeling there was some confusion on the locations.

  3. the area is getting worse by the day, you see all this gang activity by wilson and magnolia but police do not do anything about it. it gets scary walking down wilson between clark and sheridan. espcially in front of truman college by the convinienec store, thats where all the gamg members hang out.

uptown is not what is used to be.
