Reservoir Opens (Softly)

A commenter says about the long-anticipated opening of The Reservoir:

"Soft opening tonight! Come on down!"

The Reservoir is located at 844 West Montrose, at Dayton.  Look for the brown vertical sign.

Update:  A reader said it was in full swing by 6:30, and sent us this photo to prove it.

  1. Do they have a website yet or official opening date?

  3. Great place! I stopped in, and it was busy. Best of luck to them!

  4. Food was pretty bad but nice place. Drinks pricey too so I hope they have some specials.

  5. @William - Hope you provided them some direct feedback as well.

Let's be a little more forgiving of local businesses and at least give them a chance to learn their market and improve their offering.

We all bitch and complain on here about the lack of options in Uptown, but then we immediately slam developers for charging rents that are too high when we have not seen their product and restaurants for having bad food on their first night in business!

I am dying to take the plunge and invest in a business right here in my community because I believe in us. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get Uptowners like William to give me a chance?

  6. Au Poivre Steak sandwich was great and the beer/wine selection is reasonably priced. Great to see it busy on a Monday night.

  7. Just voicing my opinion Stash. Chicken sandwich was dryed out and tastless and my bill was $50 for 2. Don't open a business unless you're ready to impress from the get go...basic business sense.

  8. I can't say enough good things about my new neighbors, The Reservoir...!!! :-) I had the pork belly and lamb burger tonight and it was, honestly, one of the best meals I've had in AGES...!!! The staff is awesome and knowledgeable, the food is incredible, and the boozy-treat selection is a force to be reckoned with... Support local business - these guys deserve it - and you'll be pleasantly surprised with this local treasure...!!! :-)
