Where The Wild Things Are

Just in case you thought Wilson Avenue had gotten tamed. (We really want to say... "And his hair was perfect" for all you Warren Zevon fans.)

  1. Ahhh...real urban wildlife!

But a word of warning to dog and cat lovers--now that we have proof on video that at least one coyote is around Truman College, do yourselves and your furry family members a favor. Do NOT leave your dogs outside unattended, and do NOT let your cat outside to prowl--unless you want to see Fido or Fifi snatched and killed by coyotes. Coyotes are territorial and view dogs as competition to be driven away or killed; cats and small dogs make a fine meal for Wile E. Coyote. Don't leave dog food or cat food outside where it will be accessible--coyotes are smart creatures and learn fast where the huntin' is good. The only good thing about coyotes here is that they will keep the rat population down.

  2. Whether or not you like rats, Bryce, the coyotes will still be eating them...

  3. That guy is pretty big for a Coyote! Maybe the result of a combination of winter coat and a plentiful supply of rats! Although, I don't think I'd worry about my dog's safety, she could run down and out gun that Coyote any day of the week!

  5. Eastern coyotes are much bigger due to interbreeding with wolves.
