Right by one of the rusted out trash receptacles (light poles) on Broadway, we spotted a perfect spot for a tree. Sadly, there are quite a few of these "tree grates" up and down Broadway that are barren. There is one outside "Smoke Dreams" on Broadway
that is STILL tree-less a year after our last posting. Isn't the 46
th ward supposed to be "green?"
These same photo's could have been taken on Sheridan Road as well.... and again, wouldn't it be nice to have trees on Lawrence from Sheridan to Clark?
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday, if anyone really cared....
Uptown Superhero, what do you suggest we do to get trees there? What can I do? What have you done?
ReplyDeleteTalking about it on a blog is fine, but I "do really care", as you say. What do you suggest the next step is in the process of obtaining trees on our streets?
tygerkub, fair and honest question. I have contacted Shillers office to no affect, but thought I would do so. I have contacted my neighborhood block club, I have contact streets and sans..
ReplyDelete..so there you go, I actually do more than write on a blog... How about you?
Uptown Superhero----all you have to do is call 311 with the exact address and request a tree.
ReplyDeleteThere has been a "request on file" for over a year for the tree-less spot in front of "Smoke Dreams."
ReplyDeleteWe think there is something hindering it somewhere in the system.
