An "Uptown Update" reader sent in photos recently of workers sweeping up crumbling pieces of the Wilson Avenue bridge at Lake Shore Drive that fell on the street below. Nice.
Yes, it really is falling down. And, according to the Dept of Transportation it, and the Lawrence Avenue bridge are coming down - all the way down. There will be full tear downs and replacements in two years. In two years Lake Shore Drive will be taken out down to the base (not just renovated like last time) and the Wilson and Lawrence bridge removals and replacement will be part of that process.
