Family Feud Spills Over Into Uptown Nursing Homes

You may have read about the very politically well-connected O'Brien Family having a generational fight over the ownership of the O'Brien's restaurants, but an informed reader tells us it hits closer to home:  the dispute also covers a chain of for-profit nursing homes, including Uptown's St. Martha Manor (on the 4600 block of Racine) and Margaret Manor North (on the 900 block of Cullom).  The umbrella company, Mado Management, is a frequent campaign contributor to Ald. Shiller (most recently contributing $2000 to her campaign in May 2010).  Stay tuned.
