Fire At Weiss Plaza Affects Several Businesses

Weiss Plaza at Sheridan and Lawrence was the scene of what appears to have been a roof fire Sunday afternoon. Nhu Lan Sandwich Shop seems to have suffered the most damage. • "At 2:15 this afternoon (Sunday Dec. 20) we were walking home when we spotted smoke coming from the roof at Weiss Plaza. Fire seems to have impacted KFC and Nhu Lan Sandwich shop."
• Later Sunday evening, another reader wrote, "Nhu Lan Bakery & Sandwich caught fire today. They are now closed. There was some damage to KFC and to the Currency Exchange." 

We saw a single Service Master truck outside of Nhu Lan late Sunday night. Hopefully Nhu Lan will indeed be able to re-open soon, as the handwritten sign on its front door indicates.
