Murder Charges Filed In Sunday's Stabbing Death

Ross Feiwell, age 58, has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of another man last Sunday night in front of the Wilson Yard Target.

After a verbal altercation, allegedly over a bag of socks that one man had been given, Mr. Feiwell was seen by witnesses to stab the victim, age 49, in the neck with a box cutter or X-Acto knife.

No name has been released for the man who was stabbed, who was pronounced dead after being taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital.

According to the police, Mr. Feiwell was scheduled to appear in bond court at 26th & California today.

The address given by Mr. Feiwell was in the 4700 block of Malden. However, many witnesses saw him sitting for hours prior to the murder in a bus stop on the 4400 block of Broadway, with many of his belongings surrounding him.

Update:  DNAinfo gives the name of the murder victim as Thomas Sawyer. Our sympathies to those who knew and loved him.
