Long Before Target

In April of 1967, a gas station with a car wash stood at Sunnyside and Broadway. Be sure to ask for stamps with your gas purchase!

You can see some of the buildings that would be destroyed in the 1996 Wilson Yard fire in the background.

    I think this was the Purple Martin gas station too. The bus turn-around was at the south end, see: http://www.trolleybuses.net/chi/htm/usa_h_chi_mh_9715_rt78broadway_19700712_rh.htm

      Hay how you doing I used to work at a gas station on Broadway I've got little red headed guy I worked there for 5 years I missed your neighborhood
