Update On Saving Uptown Schools

From Friends of the 46th Ward Schools:

"Many of you are aware that CPS may be closing over 100 schools that it believes are under-utilized. Three schools in the 46th Ward are thought to be at risk of closure: Brennemann, Stewart, and Stockton.

A meeting will be held on Monday, January 28 from 7-9 p.m. at Truman College (1145 W. Wilson) for parents and community members to provide feedback and express support for individual schools. We encourage all parents, students, community members, and interested people to attend the meeting and show support for your local school(s). The information gathered at Monday's meeting will be used by CPS to make decisions on specific schools.

If you are particularly interested in Stockton School, supporters are meeting today, January 25, at 3:00 p.m. at Stockton (4420 N. Beacon)  to discuss priorities and talking points. We apologize for the late notice, and encourage you to attend the meeting at Truman even if you cannot attend today's meeting.

Sincerely,
Friends of the 46th Ward Schools"
