Danstock Fundraising Concert

A long-time Uptowner, Dan Stock, a producer at Uptown Recording and a musician himself, is losing his battle with melanoma.  Friends have organized a fundraiser, "Danstock," to fight melanoma so that future generations won't lose their loved ones to the disease, as Dan's family is losing him.  The fundraiser was his idea.

Chicago’s music community is coming together to help fight cancer with a rock concert benefiting melanoma research at the Lurie Cancer Center. The aptly named DANSTOCK Concert will feature four bands who Stock produced albums for at Uptown Recording.

  1. Late last week, The American Cancer Society came out with research showing overall cancer deaths are down particularly with the most common cancers (lunch, breast, colon and prostate), but deaths from melanoma are on the rise. Come out and support this important cause and enjoy some great local music too. Lots of Uptown businesses are contributing to the silent auction and raffle prizes.
