Gang Awareness Seminar

The Cook County State's Attorney's Community Justice Center is presenting a gang awareness and education seminar (for adults only) on Monday, September 21, at 6:30 pm at the Swedish Covenant Hospital auditorium, 2751 W. Winona (in the Andersonville Pavilion Building).

The workshop will cover how to recognize gang members, how to differentiate between members of various gangs, how youngsters can avoid gang recruitment and how they can engage in counteractive positive activities.

Reservations, by September 17, are requested. Call (773) 334-4066 or e-mail ltrier@cookcountygov.com. There's free parking; the poster below can be printed out if you want to distribute it.

  1. Why don`t the States Attorney teach us what to do to get rid of the gangs instead of teaching how to recognize them. I already know what they look like. I am interested what they can do to get rid of them from out streets instead....

  2. Looks like the same crew who made the news are back. They're running up and down the street now at Sheridan and Leland, stopping traffic. Also noticed that the building where the original film was made was tagged recently.

  3. An unmarked car drove by and told them to move along. They did get there a few minutes after I called 911. Several of the gangbangers are back already walking up and down the sidewalks and across the road.

  4. Keep calling 911 every time they return. Make sure you mention any weapons they may have.

  5. Arrest them for J-Walking. That's what they do in California.
