If you are up for it, just ask your server what they suggest - for example if you want chicken, ask which chicken dish is a specialty of the house or the chef - it will serve you well. Sichuan has some great cuisine and much of it packs a punch. I personally love the mapo tofu and they do it well. It's "Lao Szechuan." They serve a mix of Szechuan and Mandarin -- we ate there (take out) for the first time last night and it was excellent! The spicy chicken chow mien, seseme chicken, chicken fried rice, and the egg rolls were excellent. Not greesy and no real signs of a lot of MSG (since I am allergic). The food was excellent and we will certainly be back. FYI: They will start deliveries in about 2 weeks.KenCondoPreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15485589614066828494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1957537260422450632.post-86438304377487598162012-09-14T19:26:00.508-05:002012-09-14T19:26:00.508-05:00Laow Si chwan - I guess that is more of less the ...Laow Si chwan - I guess that is more of less the phonetic. It means "old Sichuan" or "honored Sichuan", Sichuan (Szechuan) being a province in the southwest of China which is famous for spicy food and pandas.

My family and I had an early dinner there tonight and it was great. The "Lao" brand of restaurants do really well in Chinatown and it seemed like they might have a big night tonight. The owner is very charismatic and excited to be part of the community. They also have a full bar, which is great.

Check it out and enjoy some authentic Sichuan (Szechuan) cuisine!Uptownismhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06683112836998540009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1957537260422450632.post-10621405965238238322012-09-14T17:31:53.178-05:002012-09-14T17:31:53.178-05:00does anyone know how to pronounce the name of the ...does anyone know how to pronounce the name of the restaurant and maybe add a phonetic spelling to the news post?Flying Nunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453608035016763233noreply@blogger.com
