The beams and structures looked like they were rusty or dirty as soon as the ties went up. At a public meeting in the fall, the head of infrastructure for the CTA admitted they should’ve extended the concrete over Broadway. Unfortunately, this is just the latest in a series of penny-wise, pound-foolish moves by the city. Hopefully they have better long-term thinking with RPM.
