Now & Then From High Above

Today (Franklin Mendes-McAllister)

We've featured the beautiful aerial shot of Uptown from 1932 on other occasions. Back then, it would have been taken from either an airplane or blimp.

Today, it is a bit easier logistically to get the same shot with the advent of drones. Franklin Mendes-McAllister flew his drone to almost the exact position to get the same shot as seen today. We've lost and gained some buildings over the years, but for the most part, our beloved neighborhood looks the same, at least from this view.
