Uptown, Chicago, IL, August 7, 2017 - On Saturday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Sheridan Park Neighbors Association (SPNA) will host the 5th Annual Sheridan Park Art Festival, with a focus on family entertainment and community engagement. Set on Sunnyside Mall, this year’s fest is the largest yet, with over 30 local artists and musicians, local food vendors, and lots of kid-friendly activities. In three morning sessions, children can compete in the sidewalk art contest, with the winner of each age group receiving a fully-stocked backpack of school supplies. SPNA will also be hosting a raffle, featuring prizes from local businesses, including gym memberships, theatre tickets, food baskets, and much more. Half of the raffle proceeds will benefit Courtenay Language Arts elementary school’s lunch program for students in need. Finally, Chicago Park District’s Rolling Rec’ program will lead two sessions aimed at kids and their families

Art Festival co-organizer Lisa Pollard says, “The art festival gives us a chance to invest in area improvements, socialize with neighbors, support the kids in our local CPS elementary school via donations and raffle ticket sales, and introduce visitors from around Chicago to our historic and diverse Uptown neighborhood.” The Sheridan Park Art Festival coincides with the Sheridan Park 24th Annual Yard Sale.
