Post-Season Parking Restrictions In Uptown Area

As the Cubs begin the second round of post-season playoffs, the same restrictions as there were with Wrigley concerts and the previous playoff games go into play, primarily affecting the area around Clark and Irving.

Games 1 and 2 (and if necessary, Games 6 and 7) of the best-of-seven series will be played at Wrigley Field:
  • Saturday, October 15th – Game begins at 7:08 p.m. – Gates open at 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 16th – Game begins at 7:08 p.m. Gates open at 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 22nd – If necessary; time to be announced
  • Sunday, October 23rd– If necessary; time to be announced
(We are only listing the restrictions about the areas near Uptown. For a full list of Wrigleyville neighborhood restrictions and closures, see Ald. Tom Tunney's email.)

Parking Restrictions -- Beginning at Noon on Saturday, October 15th through Monday, October 17th at 4am (and if necessary, beginning at Noon on Saturday, October 22nd through Monday, October 24th at 4am), there will be no parking on:
  • Clark – School/Aldine to Irving (Both Sides)
  • Irving Park – Clark to Seminary (Both Sides)
Possible Street Closures:
  • "Expect street closures between Belmont and Irving Park / Halsted to Southport. At the discretion of the Chicago Police and OEMC, arterial streets MAY be closed to ALL vehicular traffic. Please have Photo ID and Proof of Residence available for presentation to either CPD or Traffic Management Personnel.  While this may be inconvenient, public safety is of the utmost importance."
Taxi, Rideshare, and Limo Staging Areas:
  • Irving Park between the cemeteries (Seminary to Clark) will be the staging area for Lyft, Uber and limos. Other passenger vehicles will be towed.
  • Taxi Loading and Staging will be southbound on the 3300 block of Clark.
"Clinch Game" restrictions.
  • If the Cubs have the possibility of winning the series, whether it happens at home or in Los Angeles, there will be additional parking restrictions and closed streets in the areas around the ballpark. While none of those areas are in Uptown, it may affect us as an overflow area, particularly for parking.
For all restrictions, including those for Lakeview/Wrigleyville, see Ald. Tunney's email.
