Argyle Safety Update From Ald. Osterman

From Ald. Osterman's Friday newsletter:

"Thank you to the more than 80 residents who came out Wednesday evening to join me, along with the police and State Representative Greg Harris, on a Public Safety Walk through the Argyle community.

The police are continuing their efforts to quell the gang, drug and other criminal activity that has been an ongoing problem in this part of our ward. In addition, to build on the momentum from this very positive walk, we are forming a new neighborhood association, called Argyle Neighbors, that will be made up of residents, business owners and representatives from community organizations in the Argyle area.  If you’re interested in being part of this group so that we can work together to improve the safety and quality of life for those who live, work and go to school in this neighborhood, please email me at Harry@48thward.org.

My office is also working with Goudy Technology Academy, 5120 N. Winthrop Ave., to recruit volunteers who can supervise the playground and ensure the safety of students after school on weekdays. If you can help, please email Karen Dreyfuss on my staff at Karen@48thward.org."

There was also an article in DNAinfo about the walk.
