"Dispensary 33" Coming Soon to 5001 N. Clark

Signs are up in the windows of the upcoming "Dispensary 33," a medical marijuana dispensary, right on the corner of Clark and Argyle. The website listed in the window does not give an opening date, but we are guessing it won't be far off.

  4. It's the first one I've heard of in the city. I think there are a couple in the burbs getting ready to open.

  5. By law, dispensaries can sell only product that come from one of Illinois' 20 cultivation centers. The cultivation centers' permits were issued in mid-February. Most, if not all, had to be constructed from scratch. By law, a cultivation center must demonstrate that it is fully operational and has commenced production within six months of receiving a permit. Since production must commence at the cultivation centers by mid-August, product should be getting to the dispensaries within a few months after that.
