And The Early Voting Numbers Are In

Voters of Uptown, you went out and did your thing in huge numbers!  According to Aldertrack, early voting in the runoff was up all over Chicago, including in all three of Uptown's wards:
  • In the 46th Ward, 2,901 people early voted (9.88% of the registered voters), compared to 1,781 early voters in the February general election (6.21% of the registered voters). Additionally, the number of registered voters went up by 673, and there were 980 absentee ballots returned.
  • In the 47th Ward, 4,291 people early voted (12.69% of the registered voters), compared to 2,138 early voters in the February general election (6.44% of the registered voters). Additionally, the number of registered voters went up by 589, and there were 943 absentee ballots returned.
  • In the 48th Ward, 3,065 people early voted (10.12% of the registered voters), compared to 1,802 early voters in the February general election (6.05% of the registered voters). Additionally, the number of registered voters went up by 492, and there were 677 absentee ballots returned.
A nice start to an important election day.  Everyone else, get out there on Tuesday and do your thing!
